It was our fifth year, and we weren’t going to let the bitter cold stop us!
Since the year my daughter was born, my sisters and I have been doing the Dazzle Dash – a 1.4 mile walk through the Symphony of Lights display in Columbia, MD. It’s for a great cause and is an incredibly fun event!
This year was by far our coldest. In fact, it was so cold that we took a shortcut through the woods and back to our car. We’ve never done that before! It was 27 degrees, and by the time we had made it back to our cars, we had been out in the cold for 2 hours. It was wearing on us for sure!
As part of our tradition, we always meet at the mall, usually kicking off our trip by having lunch at the Cheesecake Factory, and then strolling around the mall until it’s time to head over to the walk. This year, our dad joined in on the fun at the mall and we had a great time!
And yes, you do see our little man there – we took him to the mall with us, but due to the cold weather, we had my husband pick him up before the walk. He would have been miserable!
What traditions do you have with your families around the holidays?
